Professional Aspirations
Fabio has a wide range of interests, from books to sports (mainly martial arts and volleyball, even winning some competitions), from chess to volunteering (he founded a non-profit while enjoying clown therapy in hospitals before joining the Red Cross). However, his passion for problem-solving has always been too strong, leading him naturally to earn a degree in Mathematics from the University of Bari. After completing his studies, he entered Accenture’s world of financial and banking consultancy in Turin. But this field felt too far from his way of tackling problems, so he left to begin a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at the Gran Sasso Science Institute in L’Aquila.
During his doctoral and postdoctoral work, his research explored bio-inspired robotics and soft robotics, working alongside computer scientists, biologists, and engineers. This research allowed him to refine his skills in optimization, control of dynamic systems, and mathematical modeling.
The more he learns, the more his curiosity grows, and alongside his research, he occasionally collaborates with various companies, applying his knowledge to lean production and sales management, psychoacoustics, and minimal ship wiring. Eventually, he decided to establish a start-up for industrial optimization and energy harvesting through additive manufacturing.
However, Fabio’s deepest desire has always been to apply his skills in healthcare and wellness. He is now part of Helaglobe, where he can finally realize this goal by doing what he does best: solving problems.
Why do I work at Helaglobe?
As a mathematician, I need to engage with constantly evolving challenges, and Helaglobe, with its multidisciplinary team, pushes me each day to reinvent myself not only as an applied mathematician but also as a computer scientist, biostatistician, data analyst, and engineer. The main reason I chose to join the Helaglobe family, however, is the awareness of being able to do something concrete to improve the lives of “People with.”
Three adjectives to describe yourself:
curious, analytical, tenacious.
Three standout personal qualities: empathy, humility, creativity.
Three essential qualities for someone in my role:
intuition, problem-solving, critical thinking.
Inspirational figure(s) (names and reasons):
my wife Katia, for her exceptional empathy, kindness, and tenacity. Leonardo da Vinci, for his curiosity and versatility. Yip Man, Wing Chun martial arts master, for his courage, respect for others, and self-awareness.
My professional aspirations:
to consolidate my skills and learn new ones to deliver projects that increasingly satisfy clients and expand Helaglobe’s services.
My personal aspirations:
my greatest aspiration is to watch my son grow and to enjoy as much time as possible with family and friends. Additionally, I hope to soon return to clown therapy!
My motto:
“Everyone knows something is impossible to achieve until someone who doesn’t know it comes along and invents it” (A. Einstein)
